Roan Mountain Rhododendron Festival 2010....
We decided to take Mom & Ron up to Rn. Mtn. this year to show Ron the BEAUTIFUL Display of blooms, but only found the following...
A fenced off area where we were NOT supposed to eat our picnic......we did anyway.....

Sooooo pretty to see all of this pink everywhere!! Like a sea of flowers! 
Look! the boys are sooo happy to be surrounded by all of this floral beauty!
And again....here is a wonderful specimen of the legendary flora that covers the Mountain in June of EVERY year..... 
EXCEPT FOR THIS ONE!!!!! Boy!!! Apparently, something to do with our strange weather did something to the flowers this year......we got a good laugh out of it, and then found the.......
PLAYGROUND!!!!
All was not lost.......everything gets better when a playground can be found!!! Sorry Mom and Ron for the lack of participation on NATURE'S part.....maybe next year!!!
