It's finally October! Yay!!!
Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE Fall???
Here are just a few things that I love about the fall around here!!!
Autmn at Oz
This happens October 4th & 5th this year. I've never been to this festival. but have heard that it's pretty neat. There used to be a Theme Park on Ski Beech and I know that my mom and Grandma took my sister and AUnts & Uncles there when they were all little at least once. It would be neat to see if I could get my husband to take me "sightseeing" in our own back-yard!
Here's a website that you can go to to find out more about that...http://www.beechmountainchamber.com/calendar/oz.htm
The Wooley Worm Festival!! You can find out more about it at the following website!
This festival happens the 3rd weekend of October every year. Those cute little worms tell us if we're going to have a rough winter or not! Why not? We look to all sorts of things to tell us the weather.......why not these little furry worms????
The 30th Annual Valley Country Fair!!
This is held every year on the same Saturday as Wooly Worm. (Makes for a COMPLETE traffic headache in our neck of the woods!!). We haven't been to this since I was pregnant with Creston, but used to, you would have to pay to park. It's really nice, though, if you like arts & Crafts and country bluegrass/Gosphel music. They have TONS of good food too! Here's their website! http://www.vallecrucis.com/festivals.html
There are MANY more things that go on around here in October, my father in law was in the habit of making molasses each October, but we have taken off the last 2 years due to Mackie last year, and this year, Mack was just a little too tired to worry with it. If we can make some next year, we'll invite everyone to come and watch!!!
MY FAVORITE Halloween Movies!!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the following Movies!!!
No Halloween is complete without watching these movies!!! I fell in love with the "Nightmare before Christmas MANY years ago, and I always like to watch the Charlie Brown one ON TV just before Halloween. It's better on TV, somehow......Like something to look forward to....Remember when the Wizard of OZ would only come on 1 time a year, and you would anticipate it weeks beforehand? That was nice..........
Well, the boys and I decorated the house and yard today. Put some ghosties in the trees and at Nana's house too. We're in the "Spooky Spirit" now!!!
Hope that you all have a GREAT October too!!!!!!!
