Mack & Dorothy always grow "Pie" Pumpkins. They gave us two good sized ones again this year, so I began the task of cooking them down for later use! (The prepared pumpkin freezes really well!)
I got ALL of this from the 2 pumpkins!

Here is what the firt batch looked like after it had cooked for a while!

After it has cooked down (most of the water is gone...) I take my Potato Masher and mush the pumpkin and then take my little hand-mixer and puree it up just a little bit more!

This is what it looks like after it's allllll blended up! Then...I take my measuring cup, measure out about 3-4 cups per Quart Freezer bag and stick them in the freezer!!!

I like to use Pumpkin for pies, and pancakes and muffins! There are just sooo many yummy recipes you can use pumpkin in!!
