Christmas Day 2009...Part 1

Our Christmas Morning started out pretty good! Mark and I awoke around 8:15ish and the boys were still asleep. It was nice to get to sleep that long since we'd been up till 2:00am. Mark stepped into the bathroom and his pager went off. It was a fire alarm in Boone. He asked me what it was and I told him...he got to listening and realized that they had 2 calls going on and that there was also a house fire in progress! (If the paid firemen are able and in the area, they are expected to return to work in the event of a actual Fire.) He called and found out that he needed to come back in, so he got ready and off he went. He wasn't sure how long he'd be gone but said to wait until he got back to open presents with the boys.

Off he goes!
Mackie is wondering what is going on!
Creston is looking dejected since he will once again have to WAIT to open presents! Bless his little heart! It's hard on the little fellas when they don't quite understand what is happening!
Mackie, however, was in a pretty good mood! Remember, he has yet to open ANY presents since he was asleep last night!
Paw-Paw came up and got Creston to tkae him down to stay with them for the day while Mark was gone. The boys got to being a bit rowdy and were fighting more than usual. They had pity on me! Bless them!!!! Mackie and I stayed at the house puttering around and tidying it up. I finally let him have his stocking presents. He got this little Tractor! As you can see...he LIKED it!!!

This is Mackie talking to daddy on the Phone. Boone got quite the Ice Storm during the night, so aside from the house fire that morning, the firemen were having to stay in town for most of the day to help go on Fire Alarm calls and to also cut MANY trees out of the roads.
(below is a picture that I took a couple of days after the Ice Storm!
~ note that the tops of the trees are all broken!!)It was a real mess! Mark didn't make it home until after 6:00pm.
He was worn out, but we still had Christmas to do! Bless HIS heart!
He's got to go back to work bright and early tomorrow too!
