Eli's 2nd Birthday Party & the Fire Department!!

Today we went to help celebrate Eli turning 2!! His mommy and Daddy had him a cute little Curious George Birthday Party complete with the Monkey Masks!! Very cute! After the party, we went to the Fire Department to visit with Daddy! We made Jimmy try on the Monkey Mask and then Capt. Jimmy decided to "cage" Creston in under a stool!! Silly Jimmies!!!

Brotherly Love and Snow Boots!

As we were getting ready for Church this morning (Mark is working today), I got the boys clothes and socks on them and told them to go get their boots on...This is what happened!

Adorable Sweet moment! Then I panned down and saw this!! :o)
Guess what? I let Mackie wear them to Church! Why not??? It was cute, he had shoes on, and it wasn't going to hurt anyone at all!!! (the other reason I let him wear them was because he WASN'T taking them off!!!)
My Sweet boys! (When they want to be, that is!)

ASU vs. Samford Football Game!

O.k. We decided some time ago that we would take Creston to an ASU (Appalachian State University) football game this year! LAST year, on the day that the tickets went on sale, they ALL sold out in a matter of a couple of hours! So.........THIS year, when they went on sale, I was on the phone dialing madly to score us 3 tickets!!

I did and we did and all was right with the world! We were excited! Creston was excited! I found a friend who lent us a Jersey for Creston to wear to the game. We begged Nana & Paw-Paw to watch Mackie for the majority of the day (Noooooot quite ready yet to go to a game!). Everything was all set!
Then........the day of the game came........RAIN!
Rain, rain, rain, everywhere!!! And not the little misty stuff either.........RAAAAAIIIIINN!!!! Yucky!
We made out way to Boone, went by Wal-Mart to pick ME up a Rain Poncho or something to help keep me dry since I couldn't find mine, grabbed a quick bite to eat in the car, and then made out way to the ASU campus to hunt for a parking spot! We FINALLY found one at the Health Department (not very close to the Stadium) and THANKFULLY, the busses were taking everyone to a drop-off point close to the stadium!
We loaded up, and rode to the Music building where we went inside and found a short-cut through the building to the other side so we wouldn't have to go all the way around in the rain (My idea ~ Like it was going to make THAT much difference anyway!)
(Here are my two fellas trekking it towards the stadium!)
Once we could see the stadium, it appeared that they weren't letting anyone in to sit down...in the RAIN...so Mark steered us towards one of the eating places in the Stadium parking lot. Once there, we found that there were PLENTY of places to sit down and eat (we didn't have to eat in a hurry in the car!! ~ Good info. for NEXT year!) and rest before heading back out in the rain to go get our seats!
(Here are Creston and Daddy in their ASU finery! ~ I wanted a picture because I knew once outside, we wouldn't be getting one!)
(Here is Creston modeling the Jersey! Thanks Shana!!!)

Creston was VERY proud of that Jersey! We'll have to get him one...and a football helmet....and a football.....and..... :o)
(Here are Pictures of us on our way towards the Stadium!)

We got to see the BAND March in! YAY!! They were Sooooooo wet! Didn't seem to care, though! I didn't get them in the shot, but there were a couple of (drunken) guys dancing at the band as they marched by us! That was something to see! (I don't get out much!)
(Here are my wet fellers sitting and waiting for the game to start!!)
Here we sit. Creston is looking incredibly excited by this point, and not sure if you can tell it or not, but my "Waterproof" jacket stopped being waterproof about 45 minutes into the occasion! (I was COOOOOOLLLLLDDDDD!!!)
(The band lined up all the way around the field to March on for their pre-game show!)
It was a good game! We lasted until the Third Quarter, and then I just had to go! I couldn't feel my hands anymore and Creston was tired from all of the excitement! We husteled and got back on the bus, got into the car, & got out of our wet clothes and shoes!
THEN, WE WENT TO HUNAN'S TO EAT DINNER!!!!!!
Heck yeah!!!!
The End!

Another plant that I can't kill!!!

Coleus plants!!!

I got several of these plants from my Mother-in-law this past summer and planted them in the yard. They grew all big and pretty. Usually I just let stuff die as it turns cold outside (isn't that what EVERYONE does???), HOWEVER, my mom came to visit and as we were wandering around the yard, she saw the plants and said "Have you ever pinched pieces of these off and put them in water and then planted them the next year?" I said "NO!!!" Never knew that I could do that!

So.........snip, snip, snip! She pinched off a good handful of the leafy stalks and in we went to put them into a vase! About 2 weeks +/- later I saw the following.... ROOTS!!!!! YAYAYAYAY!!!!!! It worked! It was sinple, easy, and it worked! AND........I really like these plants so much because of their really deep and varigated colors, NOW, I will have plants ready to plant for NEXT year! AND....they get REALLY bushy and big, so if I can keep these alive and continue to do this, I will have LOTS to plant from here on out!!! Yippee!!!

(I'm really excited!!)

The Punkin' Patch 2009

This year, Paw-paw planted several punkins behind the cane that he grew! It was SUCH a wet year, but the Pumpkins seemed to love it, as there were more than 10 really good sized ones to come out of the patch! The children looking pained.... :o)
Gotta work on Crestons forced smiles!! (Just like his Daddy!!!) :o) Cute little boogers!!
Nana & Paw-paw gave us 3 of the bigger ones to carve this year! We'll post pictures of our creativity later on!! :o)

Weeding out my Home-School lists!

O.k.....so for those of you who follow us on this blog, you've seen that I have TONS of links for different things on the right side of this page! Coupons, Crafty stuff, Home-School Sites, ect... I previously weeded out the Couponing sites (probably need to do that again), but I think that I will now start to week out the Home-School sites. Pretty much, I just found a LOT of neat sites on various other blogs, thought "Hey! That site looks good!" and added it to this blog until I could get some time to look them all through! There are a LOT of other Mothers out there who are into Home-Schooling and there are sooo many great idas out there to help your kids learn! I want to find as many different ways to "teach" Creston and Mackie as I can, but not have too many that I overload myself each day! So.........I will look each site link over, and keep it or delete it as I find one that won't work so well for us! Hopefully the link list will get shorter in the next few days!!! :o) Hope that you all are having a GREAT week!! Enjoy this sunshine while you can! It's gonna Rain and get colder here soon!!!

Christmas Present for my boys...hopefully!

I like to be crafty! Making things is one of my main passions, and I can actually do lots of different things if I set my mind to it, but just don't seem to have the time here lately (since the kids came along) to do much of anything like that at all!!! I decided a few weeks back that I would make the boys both a croched Afghan for Christmas! I wanted it to be boy colors, and kinda patriotic since they are all about Fire Trucks and the color RED and Blue is a staple in any boy's life, so here is what I have so far! I wanted to also have blue solid squares, but when I went to get the yarn, none of it would match the color in the red/white/blue squares!!! Sooooo......we might just be sticking with the 2 colors of squares after all!
I'll post more pictures as things progress!! Wish me luck in getting these finished by Christmas!!!

Creston spelled his name!

This week, Creston has learned how to spell his name! In appreciation of that, I took his picture in front of his name on his wall, and also of Mackie in front of his name on his wall!!! YAY Creston!!! (I wrote about it on the homeschool blog....link at the top of the page...)
